Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, and a solid foundation in legal research, writing, and courtroom procedures, with a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. This position is designed for motivated professionals eager to develop their litigation expertise within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As a Litigation Associate, you will play a vital role in preparing cases, conducting negotiations, and contributing to the overall success of our legal initiatives across multiple practice areas including public entity law and litigation, employment and wrongful termination law, insurance coverage law, personal injury litigation, product liability litigation, commercial litigation, complex tort litigation, entertainment and intellectual property litigation, environmental law, and administrative law.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis and other legal research tools to support case development.

· Draft clear, persuasive legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and correspondence.

· Take and defend depositions, including expert depositions, argue motions, and appear at court hearings.

· Assist in preparing for trial by organizing evidence, drafting witness outlines, and coordinating with clients and experts.

· Participate in negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while maintaining professionalism and adherence to legal standards.

· Manage case files meticulously within the law office management system and ensure all documentation complies with procedural requirements.

· Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases.

Skills and Competencies

· Excellent legal research, legal writing, oral advocacy, and organizational skills.

· Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation cases from inception through resolution.

Qualifications and Prior Experience

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the California state bar is required or pending admission.

· Minimum of three-to-five years of experience in litigation practice. Familiarity with diverse legal fields, including public entity law, employment law, insurance law, and/or personal injury law is preferred.
