Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal with 5-8 years of paralegal experience and paralegal certified to join our dynamic legal team. This is a full-time on-site role. We are located in the vibrant Arts District in Los Angeles. In this vital role, you will support complex litigation cases across various practice areas, ensuring smooth case progression through meticulous document management, conducting legal research, and client communication. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help drive efficiency, accuracy, and success in our litigation efforts. Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting pleadings and motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.

Supporting all aspects of litigation from discovery to trial.

Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PCLaw to support case strategies.

Manage and organize case files using document management systems like Smokeball, Infotrack, and other electronic filing platforms.

Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and evidence for accuracy and relevance.

Coordinate depositions, interviews, and client meetings while maintaining detailed records of proceedings.

Support project management tasks to ensure deadlines are met efficiently across multiple cases.

Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining calendars for court deadlines.

Assist with estate planning, environmental law cases, tribal law & regulations, patent law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, family law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, and other specialized practice areas as needed.

Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal case management software and document management systems like Smokeball.

Proficiency in drafting and filing Pleadings and Motions.

Proficiency in legal research tools to gather pertinent case law and statutes.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents, correspondence, and reports with clarity and precision.

Demonstrated ability to interview clients and witnesses professionally and compassionately.

Superior proofreading skills to ensure error-free legal documents and filings.

Strong clerical experience including data entry, filing systems, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions.

Familiarity with litigation processes and court procedures.

Qualifications and Prior Experience

Paralegal certification and a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or a related field are highly preferred.

Experience in litigation or a law firm setting is beneficial.
