Mid-to-Senior Level Attorney

Position Summary

We are seeking two experienced, driven attorneys to join our growing practice with immediate case responsibility:

Employment & Commercial Litigation: This role features an approximate 50/50 split between employment litigation and general commercial litigation. The successful attorney will manage single-plaintiff claims as well as representative and class action matters. Prior experience in Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) defense is a top priority.

Personal Injury Defense: This role focuses on defending complex personal injury and premises liability matters, handling strategy, discovery, and case resolution from day one.

Duties and Responsibilities

Employment & Commercial Litigation: This role features an approximate 50/50 split between employment litigation and general commercial litigation. The successful attorney will manage single-plaintiff claims as well as representative and class action matters. Prior experience in Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) defense is a top priority.

Personal Injury Defense: This role focuses on defending complex personal injury and premises liability matters, handling strategy, discovery, and case resolution from day one.

Skills and Competencies

Case Management & Autonomy: Independently manage employment, commercial litigation, and personal injury files from intake through final resolution with high autonomy.

Complex Litigation & PAGA Defense: Defend against complex PAGA claims, representative/class actions, and single-plaintiff matters.

Deposition & Court Advocacy: Take and defend depositions; prepare for and participate in court hearings, settlement negotiations, arbitrations, and trials.

Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research via Westlaw; draft precise, persuasive pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda.

Client & Case Administration: Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication; utilize law office management systems to maintain meticulous case records.

Strategic Negotiation: Negotiate effectively on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Industry Expertise: Stay ahead of emerging legal trends and developments across labor, employment, and civil litigation fields.

Qualifications and Prior Experience

Active California State Bar license in good standing.

Mid-to-senior level litigation experience, including hands-on experience taking and defending depositions.

Direct, demonstrable experience handling PAGA matters.

Proven track record at an employment, personal injury, or defense firm.

Demonstrated ability to independently own and drive a caseload with minimal supervision.

Legal research, drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
