Position Summary

Description: Fox Rothschild LLP has an opening in the Los Angeles, CA office for an associate in our Labor & Employment Department. The ideal candidate will have four to six years of relevant experience and expertise handling a broad range of employment litigation tasks, including motion practice, drafting and responding to discovery, taking/defending depositions, interviewing witnesses, gathering documents, marshalling facts, and arguing motions. Ongoing interest and proficiency in wage-and-hour, class actions, and PAGA preferred. Desire to actively litigate and participate in arbitrations and trials required. Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Experience in defending litigation matters.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively.
Experience drafting and arguing motions, appearing in court, negotiating settlements, preparing discovery, and taking/defending depositions.
Ability to provide practical employment counseling on employment laws and regulations.
Proficiency in wage-and-hour matters, and interest in class action and PAGA litigation.
Trial/arbitration/hearing experience preferred, but not required.
Desire to actively litigate required

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Visual Acuity: Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Compensation & Benefits: • The salary range for this position applies to California. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $205,000 – $250,000.
