Position Summary
Lathrop GPM is actively seeking an associate to join our Financial Services group in our Redwood Shores or San Jose offices. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of litigation experience. Experience as a clerk for a bankruptcy judge is a plus but not required. Ideal candidates will have some experience, or at least a strong interest in learning, some, or all the following: bankruptcy litigation over use of cash collateral, prejudgment remedies, motions for relief from stay and adequate protection, state and federal receivership cases, creditor’s rights litigation including actions on guarantees, lender liability claims, and fraudulent transfer and preference actions. We are seeking a candidate who has the versatility and interest to work in both financial institutions and creditors rights litigation and general commercial litigation (breach of contract, fraud, etc.), as needed.

Candidates should have an active California law license and be in good standing, strong academic credentials, exceptional analytical and writing abilities, excellent client service skills, outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. A desire to appear in court and confident oral communication skills are required.

The current anticipated salary range is $200,000 – $230,000. Actual initial salary may be above or below the identified range and will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law. A full comprehensive benefit plan is provided and includes health care, retirement plan, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
