Inspector General (LA County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency)

LACAHSA

Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency

Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary
The Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (LACAHSA) is a newly established public entity created to address the region’s affordable housing crisis with bold, coordinated, and long-term solutions. Formed through a multi-county ballot initiative and funded by Measure A, LACAHSA is set to receive 36% of the allocation from this groundbreaking voter-approved measure. The agency brings together local governments, community leaders, and housing experts to increase the supply of affordable housing, protect tenants, and reduce homelessness across the region.

LACAHSA is now seeking its first-ever Inspector General (IG)—a pivotal leadership role that will help shape the agency’s foundation of transparency, accountability, and public trust. This is a rare opportunity to build an independent oversight structure from the ground up and to ensure that public funds are used ethically, efficiently, and effectively and in alignment with LACAHSA’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to a newly created Oversight Commission and the LACAHSA Board, the IG will lead audits, risk assessments, investigations, and compliance reviews to monitor program performance and uphold ethical governance. The IG will also develop policies, advise on internal controls, and engage with the public and key stakeholders to reinforce integrity across all operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of senior-level experience in auditing, compliance, investigations, or public-sector oversight, with a strong understanding of housing policy, programs and public accountability. A master’s degree and professional certifications (such as CIG, CIA, CPA, or CFE) are highly desirable. This is a unique opportunity for a principled leader to establish a culture of integrity within a transformative agency from day one.

The salary range is $180,000–$200,000 with a competitive benefits package.
