Recognition and Awards
CMCP’s history is the story of good people doing great things, of leadership in action, of passion for and commitment to our mission, and of meaningful and sustained involvement. CMCP has a long-standing tradition of honoring our member organizations whose actions reflect sustained dedication to our mission, and recognizing individuals who have demonstrated an an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
These awards and recognitions are just a few of the ways in which CMCP honors these organizations and individuals.
The CMCP Diversity Leader Hall of Fame
CMCP’s Diversity Leader Hall of Fame recognizes the i) visionaries who saw the need, set the tone and paved the way starting in
1989, and ii) strongly-committed individuals who came after, continuing the work to keep moving CMCP to a higher level.
While these individuals come from across CMCP’s geography and constituent groups and reflect the wide variety of ways in which people contribute to CMCP, their common bonds are:
- sustained long-term active involvement in CMCP
- belief in the importance of CMCP as a primary diversity organization
- participation in CMCP in multiple ways
- active promotion of and support for CMCP
Corporate and Law Firm Awards
John Essex and Guy Rounsaville In-House Counsel Diversity Award
Awarded to the CMCP corporate or public agency member that has demonstrated the strongest commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Drucilla Stender Ramey Majority-Owned Law Firm Award
Awarded to the CMCP majority-owned law firm member that has demonstrated the strongest commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Minority-Owned Law Firm Client Service Award
Awarded to the CMCP minority-owned law firm that has best demonstrated outstanding client service.
Individual Recognition and Awards
Deborah J. Broyles Law Firm Diversity Leader Award
Awarded to an individual at a CMCP member majority-owned law firm, who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Marci Rubin Emerging Diversity Leader Award
Awarded to an individual in their first ten years of practice, who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Lifetime Achievement Award

Awarded to an individual at a CMCP member majority-owned law firm, who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Marci Rubin Emerging Diversity Leader Award

New Minority Partners and Member Firms
CMCP members get priority for potential speaking opportunities on CMCP-produced panels & programs at member corporations and/or other venues with participation from all CMCP member types on panels & programs produced by CMCP in coalition with other diversity organizations.
CMCP can also find high-quality member minority attorneys to give CLE presentations in corporate law departments tailored to a company’s specific needs, or minority attorneys with required expertise to bring into existing law department training programs.
