Website LinkedIn Roll Law Group

As Litigation Counsel, you will assist in the handling of day-to-day litigation and legal counseling for all of The Wonderful Company’s privately-held farming, food, beverage and other companies. This role offers the opportunity to litigate cases actively and perform the overwhelming majority of the litigation work instead of merely managing outside counsel. From pleadings to judgment, our lawyers continue to develop and expand their legal skills on a diverse array of complex matters.
Your job will also involve maintaining and building close relationships with our clients to advise them of risk, inform them of their legal rights and obligations, and offer “outside the box” solutions to everyday business problems. We’re an army of resourceful problem-solvers, who revel in effective and creative thinking to serve and protect all of The Wonderful Company’s various operations across the globe.
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth entrepreneurial enterprise with forward-thinking business practices. Additional perks include not having to bill hours, no pressure to get or retain clients, and a reasonably consistent and predictable work schedule, involving limited travel. If you like smart, witty, ambitious (and fun!) peers — fueled by a passion to win — you will fit in well with our group.
Duties and Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll do:
• Litigate an array of commercial, regulatory and employment matters independently and with minimal supervision.
• Perform routine litigation tasks such as legal research, writing briefs/motions, interviewing witnesses, conducting investigations, drafting/responding to discovery, taking/defending depositions, mediating, negotiating, conducting arbitrations and trials as a first or second chair.
• Counsel and advise operating companies on a broad range of legal matters, including those involving tort or contract issues, intellectual property issues, U.S. food and beverage regulatory matters, commercial disputes, and labor and employment matters, among others.
Skills and Competencies
• Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills required.
• Ability to provide top-quality, proactive, accurate, and effective legal representation in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision
Qualifications and Prior Experience
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience practicing litigation in a top-tier U.S. law firm strongly preferred.
• JD from an accredited, top-tier law school.
• Member in good standing of California State Bar.
