FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
Attorneys may have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule after six months of employment, which may include a 9/80 schedule and/or partial remote work option.
3% Annual Across the Board Salary Increases in February 2023/24/25**
Bi-annual step increases of 2.5% up to Top Step of Applicable Salary Range

New Top Step effective 7/15/23 for Deputy County Counsel IV
(approximately 2.5% increase above the top step at time it is effective)

Deputy County Counsel I
($77,355.20 – $102,377.60)
Deputy County Counsel II
($95,305 – $126,547)

Deputy County Counsel III
($112,424 – $149,489 annually)

Deputy County Counsel IV
($129,542 – $184,392 annually)

Duties and Responsibilities
The County Counsel’s Office is recruiting for a Litigation Attorney I/II/III/IV. Litigation Attorney I meet with and advise County Departments regarding litigation; draft pleadings, discovery, and motions; determine case strategy and represent the County in trials, depositions, mediations, and hearings. Litigation Attorney I/II/III/IV meet with and advise County Departments regarding litigation; draft pleadings, discovery, and motions; determine case strategy and represent the County in trials, depositions, mediations, and hearings.

Qualification and Prior Experience
Litigation Attorney I

License: Must possess active membership and be in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Litigation Attorney II/III/IV

License: Active membership and in good standing with the State Bar of California.

AND

Experience:

Litigation Attorney II: Twelve (12) months of civil litigation experience as an attorney.

Litigation Attorney III: Thirty (30) months of civil litigation experience as an attorney.

Litigation Attorney IV: Forty-eight (48) months of civil litigation experience as an attorney.
