As Schiff Hardin has grown from one office to seven and from two attorneys to nearly 300, there is no doubt that our full-service firm looks different than it did a century and a half ago.
For starters, we got serious about diversity before it was fashionable; today we set the pace in recruiting, hiring, and promoting diverse talent. And our efforts have not gone unnoticed—we are regularly recognized as a leader among law firms.
We have also expanded shrewdly, building new offices to meet specific client needs with strategic talent acquisition. From a top construction practice operating in Chicago and New York to an agile San Francisco intellectual property team to a Washington D.C.-based team of regulatory heavyweights, all our offices offer strengths that serve each of our clients—whether that client is down the street or across an ocean.
Yet there is one thing about Schiff Hardin that will never change: Our clients count on us for the knowledge, creativity, and candor that only decades of legal and business experience can provide. Our attorneys can always be found side by side with their clients, providing the practical yet creative counsel for which our firm is known.
Schiff Hardin’s San Francisco office is seeking an associate attorney who has at least three years of complex litigation experience in a large law firm setting for its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a commitment to professional excellence, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues located around the country. Having a current license to practice in California, a strong academic record, and strong research, writing, and oral communication skills are required.
Our San Francisco office offers the opportunity to work for a national general practice law firm that represents clients nationally and internationally in a small office setting. With leanly staffed matters, our associates find opportunities early and often. We take professional development – informal and formal ¬– seriously and provide training and mentoring to help our associates become the lawyers they want to be and to ensure they are ready for the opportunities we provide them.
Here, at Schiff Hardin, we have a longstanding commitment to each other to build a community of belonging and to create a place where all perspectives are valued and all people feel heard. We are proud to have achieved the Diversity Lab’s Mansfield 2.0 Certified Plus status and to have earned, for the 10th consecutive year, a perfect 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), along with the distinction as a 2020 “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” Click here to learn more about Diversity & Inclusion at Schiff Hardin: https://www.schiffhardin.com/Templates/media/files/Flipbooks/Diversity/SH-Diversity-and-Inclusion-2019-Year-In-Review.html
