Job Description

Payne & Fears is seeking a junior or mid-level Employment Litigation Associate in our Irvine, CA office. The candidate should have 3 to 5 years of employment litigation experience, including drafting of motions and discovery, and conducting legal research.  Experience working on wage-and-hour class actions, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases, and/or single-plaintiff lawsuits for a defense firm is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a strong client service mindset as well as the ability to juggle multiple clients, matters, and competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Litigate single-plaintiff and class/representative actions
  • Handle agency charges
  • Provide advice and training to clients
  • Participate in CLE training
  • Enhance client relationships and personal brand through marketing and business development activities

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice in California and in good standing with the California bar
  • Excellent academics
  • Strong written communication/analytic skills
  • Excellent courtroom demeanor
