We perform independent investigations of serious allegations for entities in technology, philanthropy, education, government, retirement, law and law enforcement. We specialize in high-stakes matters that involve the leadership ranks of organizations that are already front-page news or likely to become a headline during or after the investigation.
Position Summary:
Meyers Nave is looking for a talented and ambitious Associate with four or more years of experience to conduct and assist in workplace investigations, employment litigation and advice and counsel duties as needed, for the firm’s Labor & Employment Group located in our Oakland office.
Qualified candidates must have excellent academic credentials, outstanding analytical, research and writing skills, a strong work ethic and desire to learn and dedication to superior client service. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of substantive experience in investigations and/or employment litigation with a desire for trial or arbitration experience including: discrimination, harassment, retaliation and whistleblower claims; FLSA and wage and hour claims, including class and collective action lawsuits; legal research; drafting motions, pleadings and legal memoranda; taking and defending depositions; and managing discovery-related activities. In addition, the following experience is advantageous: ADA/FEHA compliance and disability accommodation; labor negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, and administrative hearings and appeals.
The salary range for this California-based role is $160,000 – $225,000, and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, skill set and office location. Meyers Nave offers a reasonable billable hours requirement, annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses, competitive health insurance benefits, 401(k) with a partial match and profit-sharing.
