Position Summary
Hopkins & Carley has an immediate opening for an Associate to join the Litigation Department and the Financial Institutions & Creditors Rights Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years litigation experience. Experience as a clerk for a bankruptcy judge is a plus, but not required. Ideal candidates will have some experience, or at least a strong interest in learning, some or all of the following: bankruptcy litigation over use of cash collateral, prejudgment remedies, motions for relief from stay and adequate protection, state and federal receivership cases, creditor’s rights litigation including actions on guarantees, lender liability claims, and fraudulent transfer and preference actions.

Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a candidate who has the versatility and interest to work in both financial institutions and creditors rights litigation and general commercial litigation (breach of contract, fraud, etc.), as needed. Strong research, legal analysis, writing skills, and interest in trial work are required. We seek candidates who are proven self-starters as well as possess the ability to work as part of a larger team. Candidates must be current members of the State Bar of California in good standing.
