The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) is the third-largest public bus system in California, serving 13 cities and adjacent unincorporated areas in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. AC Transit has been serving the East Bay since 1960, taking over from the Key System and its predecessors, which carried passengers via buses, horse-drawn rail, electric streetcars, and ferries over the previous 100 years. The District includes the communities of: Alameda, Albany, Berkley, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Richmond, San Leandro, and San Pablo, as well as numerous unincorporated areas and operating “Transbay” routes to San Francisco and parts of San Mateo County. This position requires a minimum of eight years of verifiable and increasingly responsible experience in managing and administering civil rights, disadvantaged business enterprise, equal employment opportunity compliance programs or similarly related experiences. The individual’s professional background must include at least four years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business/Public Administration, Management or a related field is required. A law degree is desirable.
