Position Summary:

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Corporate Compliance Senior Counsel located in San Ramon, CA or Houston, TX through April 11th, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Compliance Counsel for Chevron’s global operations providing guidance and assistance to local/regional compliance personnel and counsel on various compliance legal issues for the company’s Upstream, Midstream, Downstream & Chemicals business that range in scope from antibribery, conflict of interest, and due diligence risk mitigations. Must develop a strong understanding of the business operations and work with existing local legal team to provide guidance on Chevron compliance requirements and assist with risk mitigation.

Assist with sensitive transactions review coordinating with compliance analysts and local counsel including local compliance/ethics counsel ensuring consistency with Chevron compliance process standards.

Work with Regional and HQ Compliance teams to address any compliance process gaps, review & simplify, as appropriate, existing compliance processes and coordinate training of commercial teams and local joint venture personnel.

Actively engage and coordinate with Compliance Counsel to ensure consistency of advice, assist with and provide input on corporate compliance programs and project.

Coordinate and liaise with the Investigations Team to provide any required support.


Minimum of 7 years of experience in similar positions.

Juris Doctorate degree

Admission to at least one State Bar or District of Columbia Bar.
