Duties and Responsibilities :

These are just a few of the core values that our interns live and breathe during their experience at Intuit. We are very excited to offer a growth position to an early-career attorney in Silicon Valley.

Intuit’s contracts & marketing managers (“CMMs”) have a much greater level of responsibilities and broader discretion than individuals in similar roles at other companies may experience. As they become more experienced, the complexity and strategic impact of the matters that they work on will increase.

As an early-career attorney, this role could have a natural transition from the CMM role to the commercial counsel role. Based upon the interests of the person in the position, there could be an opportunity to move to specialized areas within transactions and marketing or in related areas such as product or privacy. The successful applicant will directly interact with our senior leaders, learn and collaborate with our business partners, and leverage our processes all while making fast decisions, bringing your recommendations to life, and changing the trajectory of our business.

Responsibilities include:

Working with the legal department’s transactions and marketing group, this individual will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising upon various U.S. and global commercial transactions, including in-bound and out-bound technology licenses, SaaS, marketing, sales and other commercial contracts with minimal direction and supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, a “can do” attitude and the willingness to work on a very large variety of work. The successful candidate will, after training, understand the technical and business ramifications of the transactions they work on and also how to help the business intelligently manage (but not eliminate) risk.

This position also supports marketing activities. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of advertising and consumer protection laws and the desire to learn specific areas of marketing law (such as CANSPAM and TCPA compliance). The candidate will work closely with the business on matters including online social marketing, claims substantiation, comparative claims and structuring and interpreting survey results.

Central to our group’s support model is constant effort to increase scalability/efficiency. The ideal candidate will be comfortable thinking outside the box and will be willing to participate/drive efforts to improve our day-to-day processes, tools and support models.

Qualifications :

Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school or meet the requirements for legal education in a foreign country
> Ability to think strategically and leverage strong analytical skills
> Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally & builds enduring partnerships
> Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
> High energy, positive mindset and “can do” attitude
