CMCP defines an “attorney of color” or “minority attorney” as an individual in any of the following categories:
- Black or African American
- American Indian or Alaska Native
- Asian (including a person whose origins are from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Laos, Nepal, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam)
- Hispanic/Latino
- Middle Eastern or North African
- Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander (including a person whose origins are from Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Island)
- Multi-racial
- Other Race, Ethnicity, or Origin
Yes. When an organization joins CMCP, every attorney in the organization is considered a CMCP member.
An Individual Member is an attorney who works for an organization that is not a CMCP member or who is not affiliated with a CMCP member type organization (generally an attorney seeking work).
No, unless an event is specifically designated “members only”. Most CMCP events are open to anyone, although there may be a fee or an increased fee for a non-member to attend.
