Q. I met with a corporate representative at the Corporate Connections portion of the Annual Business Development Conference, but I have not heard back from them.  I thought I was guaranteed business if I participated in the conference.

We have no way of guaranteeing that outside counsel will obtain work from the organizations with whom they met with at the Annual Conference.  Relationships that you develop with those that you meet at Corporate Connections take time to develop.  What CMCP provides at Corporate Connections is the venue to meet with corporate counsel with whom you may not have had the chance to encounter previously.

It is important to remember to follow-up with those that you met and be patient – relationships are not built overnight.
